Second Week Run 1 Done!

First run done on the second week, upped the mileage a bit today on my short run was a bit of shock to the system. This run was tough on a hilly mainly off road route (my running selfie below says it all). WEeight starting to slowly drop now so hopefully my pace will start picking up again. No more calorie bombs at lunch eating tinned fish, beans and seeds at the moment.

Here’s the stats so far:

Weight: 15st Dead (Shifting Timber now!)

BMI: 28.4 (still nearly obese)

Total Training Distance: 9.1 miles

Total Sessions: 4

One week of training schedule complete

The first week is always the easiest especially on this plan, where the first week only scheduled in 3 short runs. Still happy to be training though and so pleased about the donations coming in for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice.

Here’s the stats so far:

Weight: 15st 2lbs 4oz (Dropped my first pound!)

BMI: 28.7 (still nearly obese)

Total Training Distance: 5.8 miles

Total Sessions: 3

Testing Second Run

So I have completed the always difficult second run. Completing this run means I have doubled the amount of training that I completed for the last marathon I ran. I ran the Brighton Marathon in around 5 hours last year so by my logic I am on course for a solid 2 hour and 3 minutes for the Bournemouth Marathon.

Here’s the stats so far:

Weight: 15st 3lbs 8oz (i.e. very fat)

BMI: 28.8 (nearly obese)

Total Training Distance: 3.8 miles

Total Sessions: 2

First Run Done!

Just completed my first training run!

A long running hiatus made it a real toughy to be honest. I only ran 2 miles to limber up the old legs. Hopefully,  first of many, can’t wait to start shifting a bit of timber.

My starting stats:

Weight: 15st 3lbs 8oz (i.e. very fat)

BMI: 28.8 (nearly obese)

Total Training Distance: 1.9 miles

Total Sessions: 1

My Marathon Training Schedule

Last month, I was watching Celebrity Great British Bake Off. For my overseas readers, the show is about a load of people baking things in a tent under the constant supervision of an old lady, a scouser and a lesbian. Sometimes celebrities do it for charity, thats a pretty sound summary of the show. Anyway being a docile, pie lover I was enjoying an episode of the show when famous fat DJ Chris Moyles appeared. Although he has lost a great deal of weight (Chris if your reading fair play and well done). To be honest, it was a slight wake up call that I had become more rotund than famous chunker Chris. Seeing fat Chris Moyles rebranding himself into thin Chris Moyles ignited a marathon running fire deep in my (large) belly.

In some ways, Chris Moyles has become my muse ….. my thinspo (thinsporation) , if you like. He has driven me to get my fat arse off the couch and back into my running shorts. Hopefully, I will be raising a bit of money for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice along the way. Check out my fundraising page for more info and a link to donate.

Here’s my training schedule that I will be following religiously over the coming months:

Marathon Plan 2

You want regular updates I hear you say!?! Don’t worry I will be posting regular updates about my training, accompanied with sweaty selfies of me running in the woods.
